C0019 Guide to Diagnosing

Left Rear Outlet Control

The C0019 OBD-II code indicates a problem with the Left Rear Outlet Control in a vehicle’s climate control system, which is typically connected to the air conditioning or heating. This code suggests that the power or control signal to the left rear outlet vent, responsible for managing air distribution to the rear of the vehicle, is not functioning correctly.

Symptoms:

No Air Flow from Left Rear Vents, Unusual Temperature Fluctuations, HVAC Control Module Warning or Manual Control Failures

Possible Causes of C0019 Code :

  • Wiring Issues: Damaged or corroded wiring leading to the rear outlet can result in a loss of signal or power.
  • Faulty Blower Motor: A malfunctioning blower motor for the rear vents can prevent proper air flow regulation.
  • Bad Actuator: A faulty actuator that controls the rear vent can lead to improper vent operation.
  • HVAC Control Module Issues: Problems with the HVAC control module, which manages the settings for different vents, can cause the system to malfunction.
  • Low or Dirty Refrigerant: If the vehicle's air conditioning system is low on refrigerant or has other issues, it may fail to direct air flow properly.
  • Blown Fuse: A blown fuse related to the rear outlet control can cause the system to stop working.

How to Fix it?

Ensure to check for any damaged components and inspect the connector pins for signs of being broken, bent, pushed out, or corroded.

Common Diagnose and Repairs:

  • Inspecting the HVAC system wiring and connectors for damage or corrosion.
  • Testing the rear blower motor and actuator for faults.
  • Checking the HVAC control module for proper function.
  • Replacing any blown fuses or malfunctioning components.

WARNING

Driving with vehicle warning codes can be dangerous and may do further damage to your vehicle. It is highly advisable that you have the vehicle inspected and diagnosed by a certified vehicle technician as soon as possible.
